Continued...
As soon as
cattle arrived, a calf was killed not too far from the den site. Many of
the ranchers and cowhands in the Sawtooth Valley do not like wolves. In
the past, the Galena wolves have been scared away from the valley, deeper
into the White Clouds. This did not happen in 2008. In early June, when a
sheep band arrived to graze on public land, one Galena wolf nabbed a ewe
and killed it.
