Galena Pack Story
Continued...
The
2007-2008 winter was fierce and the Galena wolves left the Sawtooth Valley
in February when all the elk were forced out due to deep snow. The wolves
returned in April. The pack consisted of about a dozen wolves, mostly
yearlings. B107 denned in a new place. While she was busy with her new six
pups, the rest of her pack was often hunting squirrels in pastures where
soon there would be thousands of cows and calves. The good luck that had
prevailed with the Galena wolves was about to run out.
