Here is a view of the 2007 Basin Creek Fire:

July 2007 - Basin Creek Fire seven miles from Stanley. The blaze started from a campfire and was fanned by high winds. It threatened power lines and caused power to be shut off to Stanley for several hours during the peak of the summer tourist season. The next day, winds were calm and fire crews stopped the flames from jumping the Salmon River into the White Cloud Mountains.
