July 11th was a splendid day to wander amid Bear Valley wildflowers. At Bruce Meadows were delicate white mariposa lilies, sacred sage and 20 other plant species. We saw purple gentian at Bear Valley Creek (more a river than stream). Our next stop was Dagger Falls on Marsh Creek, always spectacular. We crossed the pack bridge and found more forbes and shrubs to examine. How thankful we are to conservationists, who protected this priceless country in 1980 as part of the 2.3 million acre Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness.
Thanks to Marlene and Cliff Keene for compiling an outing plant list, available at: http://tinyurl.com/ydpd4kx.
